6 Ideas for DIY Kids Fairy Garden Homes
9:04 AMWe searched the house for interesting shapes that we don't want anymore. Seriously ... just clutter. One was the top of a diffuser that we didn't need for the functionality. The other is a sports cone that the dog already half chewed.
1. We hot glued crafting tiles on the diffuser top. Spray painted it black. It still needed natural elements so we added twigs around the chimney. Ethan added the green pine in the chimney for smoke. So cute!
2. The second house is my favorite. The key to a good DIY fairy garden is NATURE. That's why I love this sports cone so much. WE spray painted it black so we wouldn't see the orange come through then we COVERED it in yard waste my hubby had in a bucket. Pine cones and twigs!
3. We made the water well with half a toilet paper roll and gluing twigs around it. Two wood tiles from our craft box created the awning.
4, The river was made using blue rocks we found in the dirt in our yard and one rock painted blue and covered in glitter in a former preschool class.
5. The small pond was made by hot gluing a large base on top of parchment paper then adding a rock border. We filled it with more glue and mixed in some blue food coloring. The water fall was made by gluing a patch separately on the parchment paper mixing the food color into it , peeling it off the paper and then gluing it to the stacked rocks.
WARNING ON USING POPSICLE STICKS
6. We made a bridge, boat and a picnic bench with popsicle sticks. Don't make the same mistakes we made. Once it rained the sticks expanded and the bridge came apart. So if you use Popsicle sticks space them out to allow expansion.
